Restoration Program & Fund Raising

Whats happening now...

Planting of mangroves have started around some areas of the Island.

A group of great grandchildren of Iosia Lebasi have met together and decided to fund raise during holidays through organised sporting activities. Another of their idea was to bring old tyres and gab ion bags filled with rocks to start the stone walling.

The residents of Kwato Island have started putting debris and rocks around the roots of the great badila tree.

Talks with the local parliament member Hon. Gordon Wesley to move old tyres and rocks from the mainland of Milne Bay to Kwato Island have come up with positive responses. The member will help by providing the Districts Barge to provide the transportation.

The Kwato's councilor, Sheldon Andrew has agreed to organize the youth and volunteers to provide free labor to build the sea walling near the big badila tree to the aiyalu tree.

Besides awareness my contribution to the Restoration of Kwato Island is to fund raise by selling digital photos through my website.
